Welcome to the Greater Capital Region World Trade Center, representing our area in the 300+ member strong global network of the World Trade Center Association.
Our center is privately funded, and operates independently of government funded business promotion or networking groups in the Capital Region.
In mid 2008 we reorganized, refocused and curtailed programs that werent working well for us nor for other membership dues funded business development organizations like ours- foreign delegation welcoming events, trade education programs for the general business community, providing international trade facilitation advice on a general range of topics, and other activities that consumed more resources than they generated.
In the interim we concentrated on strengthening our relationships with other trade centers in other regions of the world, and targeted acquiring deeper knowledge and increased funding capability in several specific, and sometimes overlooked, sectors - construction and infrastructure development, environmental degradation containment, fossil fuels and their acquisition and transport, heavy power generation, metallurgy, mining and minerals exploration and processing, building materials, timber and forest products, and the like.
If you have had an idea you would like to see blossom into a successful business venture, and you:
1- have sufficient time and resources of your own to commit to a relentless but ethical pursuit of its success
2- consider the project would be better served if foreign investment was introduced, either incoming or outgoing, financing or sales
3- have thoroughly researched and understood the risks, competitors, opportunities and scope of the undertaking
4- measure its success not just in seven figure dollars but in employment and betterment opportunities for those who make the commitment with you, and
5- have a market driven product and do not require direct government assistance for it to work,
